Clinical Research FellowThe Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG) is a not for profit organisation that facilitates and coordinates clinical trial research in GI cancer. The NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre (CTC), a clinical research organization at the University of Sydney, is the coordinating centre for AGITG clinical trials. The Centre is currently seeking a Cancer Clinical Trials Research Fellow. The Fellow will be involved in all aspects of clinical trials design and management. They will have the potential to take a lead in concept development, working with co-investigators, statisticians, data managers and trial coordinators to develop full protocols, submit grant applications for funding and oversee the timely completion and reporting of the study. They will also help manage, analyse and report ongoing trials. Depending on their interests and background, they will be invited to join and contribute to the research advisory committees and or subcommittees. This position is suitable for individuals looking to develop skills and a career in cancer clinical research. Candidates should have completed all or most of their training in clinical oncology (surgical, medical or radiation). Past research, publications and presentations are desirable but not essential. The position can be either full or part time depending on the applicants’ preferences. Successful applicants will be based primarily at the NHMRC CTC but will have the potential to seek part time clinical appointments. Applicants should be registered or eligible to register with the NSW medical board. The position is fixed term for 12 months subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees and may be extended beyond 12 months. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.
